Breaking Radio Silence - The Atlanta Radio Theatre Company Newsletter
Greetings everyone and welcome to the ARTC newsletter, published on or around the first Tuesday of each month! The purpose of a newsletter is to bring news, so let’s begin with news about…
The First ARTC art contest!
ARTC is well known for its adaptations of H. P. Lovecraft’s classic horror. With adaptations of At the Mountains of Madness, The Dunwich Horror, The Shadow Over Innsmouth, and The Rats in the Walls in our CD collection and The Colour Out of Space in our live production catalog we thought we’d return to one of our earliest adaptations, The Call of C’thulhu. Originally adapted by Gerald W. Page and performed at the first Dragon*Con in 1987, the script has, unfortunately, been lost. Ron N. Butler, creator of Rory Rammer and adapter of The Colour Out of Space, among other outstanding new audio dramas, has agreed to do a brand new adaptation for us, which we will present as part of our 25th Anniversary celebration at Dragon*Con 2009.
We’d like for YOU to create the promotional poster and, eventually, CD cover art for this project. Here are the specifics:
New Social Networking:
ARTC is pleased to be participating in the current online gab-fest that is Twitter!
Studio Productions:
The CD for Rory Rammer, Space Marshal is nearing completion! We aim to have it available for mail order and download in time for our appearance at LibertyCon on July 11…if not before. In the meantime, don’t forget the outtakes from the studio sessions. These are being made available exclusively to subscribers of Breaking Radio Silence…not even the podcast gets this kind of content. So if you’re not a subscriber, become one! We’re repeating the link from last month for our new subscribers. And if you like it, let us know and we’ll be sure to include more like it in the future!
Also, you told us and we listened. New pricing at Audible.com makes your favorite ARTC studio recordings more affordable than ever. Each piece is available individually or as the same set we sell on CD by mail order. Download and complete your collection!
In the meantime, don’t forget our already extensive catalog!
Think CDs are old hat? ARTC is available by download at Audible.com, iTunes, and Amazon!
Live Performances:
We’ve taken some time off to work on studio productions, but more great live audio drama is coming your way soon!
Our next confirmed live performances are at LibertyCon on July 11th and Dragon*Con on September 4-7.
Our second season at the Academy Theatre has been set and we’ll be announcing the dates and shows in our June newsletter, so stay tuned.

Getting Involved:
Ever wanted to help out ARTC but you weren’t sure how? Email us and let us know! There’s all kinds of things that can be done from anywhere in the world. Or if you have an idea for something you’d like to help out with, let us know that, too! We’re always eager to welcome new people into our fold in whatever way works best for them!
ARTC Podcast:
The ARTC podcast for April included a special favorite of ours, and we hope yours as well, Blues for Johnny Raven, by Thomas E. Fuller, from our 25th Anniversary Performance at the Academy Theatre. Next up for May we’ll be bringing you Ghost Dance by Thomas E. Fuller, performed live at a special engagement for Georgia Pacific. Remember, the studio recording of Ghost Dance is available for sale at our website and at Audible.com!
Tune in on the second Thursday of each month at 8pm for more free audio drama from ARTC!
Snippets from the Static:
Haven’t heard A Case of Abuse? Want to? Let us know and we’ll add them to the list of upcoming podcasts!
Off-dial Programming:
ARTC has had dozens, if not hundreds, of members in its run since 1984, and they don’t just do radio drama. Look for these ARTC members in performances around the Atlanta area…and beyond!
Got something for Snippets from the Static or Off-dial Programming? Broadcast it this way!
As always:
Remember that more information about us and audio drama in general can be found at www.artc.org.
